Asus is on a roll right now and yet another new netbook has been found very impressive. The new 12-inch Asus Eee PC 1218 netbook has a superb piece aluminum chassis, and has already won a prize. We are accustomed to flee netbooks on the web before their official announcement, but it is a first. While the Asus Eee PC 1218 has not yet been announced, it already has by Red Dot Award 2010 on the site asusdesign.
Asus has announced a number of netbooks clad aluminum at CeBIT this year, but the 12-inch Asus 1218 was not among them. The Asus 1218 seems very thin and elegant, and has all its ports on the back of the netbook, keeping the front and sides of the netbook smooth. The Asus Eee PC 1008p has ports on its side, but has little blankets to hide, which looks great. Thus, moving backwards will the Asus Eee PC 1218 appearance.
The simple aluminum design continues inside too, with a break of a piece of aluminum chassis and palm keyboard. The webcam also features a sliding cover that ensures privacy.
