Onkyo released two new high-end 9.2-channel Network AV receivers, the TX-NR5008 and TX-NR3008, both with THX Ultra2 Plus certification. They both sound network of ongoing support, various multi-room set-ups, iPhone or iPod playback via USB, and fully immersive 3D home theater compatible. The TX-NR5008 TX-NR3008 and two HDMI 1.4a includes 8 audio inputs necessary for a return of the Channel and the video in 3D “Side-By-Side (Half)” and “Up and Down-format.

They have an Ethernet port that allows the network connection for Internet radio streaming from services such as Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, Slacker, Mediafly, Sirius Internet Radio or streaming from the support network at home, FLAC MP3, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, WMA Lossless, AAC files, and LPCM audio. Onkyo receivers new network support Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio codecs and features DSD Direct and Burr-Brown DACs to handle the heavy demands of multi-channel audio processing. The TX-NR5008 has front and rear USB ports, so that the TX-NR3008 includes front USB port for playing audio content from USB storage devices or the iPhone or iPod.

Both models sport separate transformers for audio and video, with the TX-NR5008 also adding a massive toroidal transformer and 22,000 uF capacitors, the most typical aspect of amplifiers separate component. The Onkyo TX-NR5008 is available on Amazon for $ 2499 and the TX-NR3008 to $ 1,899.
