Toshiba released in Japan two new streetlights to LED, LEDW-15101W (H) for the poles and the linear LEDW-15201W (H) elongated clusters with a mean luminance of the road 1.0cd/m2 with an average consumption of 122W, compared to the 415W power consumption of a mercury lamp of 400 W and 195W 180W aa high pressure sodium lamp.
Even when the LED module lamps fails, it keeps emitting light by using one of its two power lines. In addition, the module has a start function by gradually increasing the brightness so it does not harm the human eye.
